I did this:

I got one of those 410.99 mini grease guns, ripped out the
plunger and spring, and epoxied a penny over the hole in the
cylinder where the plunger used to stick out.  Then I
filled it with gear oil and pumped away.  (Store it vertically
so it doesn't leak oil all over the place).

I guess you should just pump in some oil to drive out the grease.
