GT6 rear paint

I was looking at the GT6 for sale on ebay

and it looks like the rear of the car around the lights where the license 
plate is, was painted black.  Is it that original for all MkIII gt6's?  I 
know only the 72 spitfire (like mine) was painted black there.  But this gt6 
is a 73.  Of course it could be painted dark green in there and I can't tell 
due to shadows.  Just wondering....
