Ed, I had a similar problem with my 78 Spit. The problem seemed to be intermitant....I knew there must be a short somewhere, but couldn't locate it. By chance i ran into the culprit. In doing various touch ups, I had disconnected the non-working boot light wires and left them disconnected. They would occasionally make contact with some part of the car and short the fuse. This is just a hunch, but check to see if you left any other wires disconnected in your system. Troy Johnson 78 Spitfire |
