Christina, there was going to be a Convention in Las Vegas in 1997. I was
someone who sent in my $$$. Well, the Convention was canceled due to lack of
participation. What I heard is that only 25 folks signed up, and 22 of the 25
were folks from east of California.

The west coast SHO folks did not make a good name for themselves, and basically
came across as whiners because we never went out there. Then they crapped out
when it counted. Yes, '04 went well, but they had a bad rep before that.

Ron Porter (been around too long, and I remember all this stuff!!)

VO Oh I totally understand about the "differences" in distances west of the
Ol Miss. My point was that this will be the 16th convention I do believe
(officially anyway), but only ONE of them was ever truly out west. I just
think we are not only ignored by being on the west coast by Ford but also by
the whole SHO community in general. We had a blast at San Francisco and a
great turn out. I hope Seattle will draw those from the west coast who view
the east coast as too far for the very same reasons you state that the west
is too far for the easterner's! Hopefully with advance planning and
notice, Seattle will be a go!
