I don't have any experience with doing an AFM "delete" via software or
hardware, but this video from a favorite YouTuber is very informative on
the subject (be forewarned, this is a potential rabbit-hole):

I've given serious thought to doing this to the 6.2L in my 2018 Yukon XL
Denali, but I'll definitely wait until the extended warranty expires in...
10k miles or so.
