I've had and used both high end and low end meters and it's like any tool: both will do what you need but often the better one just feels better to use and even to hold. I'd rather buy a used Fluke on ebay than a new cheapo from Amazon. And there is also the option of getting one of the simpler Flukes new, still well under $50.
