When I shipped my od gearbox (I used FedEx) I built a wooden =
crate around the gearbox from 1X2s and 3/8 plywood bolting the gearbox =
to the crate. I used that crate several times and never had any damage. =
It added some weight to the shipping, but the sold protection was worth =
it.
