I had a situation very similar to yours. What I ended up doing was to
mount a 5000# D ring at the back of the garage and attaching a snatch block
to that. Then I used a winch on my tow vehicle to pull the project in and
out of the garage. To pull out, just hook up directly and pull. To pull
in, hook to the front of the project, through the snatch block and pull.
The D-Ring was small enough and mounted all the way against the back wall,
so it was never in the way and I didn't have to worry about hooking and
unhooking.
