For what it's worth, I too have a good Fluke meter. It stays in my tool box and is used when exact measurements are needed. I also have a couple of the cheap Harbor Freight meters. They get tossed around, kkept in the junk drawer in the kitchen, in the subset of tools kept in the trunk, etc. They work well when you are looking for continunity, or voltage, or a gross reading of resistance.
