News here is I needed a small, quiet compressor and picked up a Porter Cable
C1010. Much to my surprise it's actually fairly quiet and works pretty
nice. I could use a bit more SCFM (using it for a low pressure air blast on
a benchtop CNC, ~10psi through a pair of basketball inflation needles), but
for general around the house use filling tires/small pneumatic nailers/etc
it seems like just the ticket. Oh, and it was only $100 at Home Despot so
not even that spendy.
