    I have cut up a set of tires with a Sawzall, but I can't remember what 
kind of blade I used.  You probably want to stay down close to the rim, to 
minimize the flexing of the sidewall.
    If I had to do it again, though, I would probably use my angle grinder 
with a cutting disc.  I'm not honestly sure why I didn't do that last 
time.
