> What does argon smell like? In theory it's odorless. In practice, it seems to smell a lot like air that has been stored in a rusty, dirty old tank. Although you wouldn't want to breathe it continuously, even a big lungful of pure argon isn't going to hurt you, any more than holding your breath for a second or two will. Ordinary air has more argon than CO2.
