I've been thinking of getting an electric hoist to use in place of an engine crane. I'm only lifting A series Austin Healey Sprite/MG Midget engines. My garage has 11' ceilings with wood joist and 2 2x12s for the center beam. Can anyone help me with advice on how to mount the hoist on the joist so it will be strong enough to hold 250-300 lbs. Thanks. Also any pros/cons to the concept of doing this. Phil Nase http://home.comcast.net/~philnasecpa |
