Believe it or not there is another way which I found out of necessity on my trailer ramp door [same arrangement]. With the door UP there was no, or almost no, tension in the spring so I just looped an extra loop of the wire around the pulley. Both sides of course. Was a little more fiddly than that due to restricted access which is why I didn't go the lever and set screw route. Worth looking at - as many have said those springs and bars can be lethal. Derek |
