I'd suggest rewiring with more poles, so you can run both a hot wire and a wired
ground, and heavier gauge wire for the charging circuit. It will still charge
pretty slow due to voltage drop in the wiring.
Any shop that carries trailer supplies should have a standard round 6- or
7-position connector, plus adapters in case you have any other equipment with
the flat-4 connector.
