What's wrong with Armor-All ?? I must've missed that one.

I've always had OK luck with it. However, I have had a couple of
experiences, and realize that there are some precautions and limitations to
its use.

First, many years ago I learned why NOT to put it on your motorcycle tires
for winter storage. First warm weekend in March and I rode about 2 miles
before the first serious turn. One little goose on the throttle and it just
slid out from under me - still don't know how I caught it again.

Also, after a few years of putting Armor All on our '78 LeSabre's dash,
maybe 7-8 times TOPS, I noticed what I thought was some plastic coating
peeling off the chromed plastic. I sadly assumed the car was beginning to
fall apart till I finally peeled a little bit and the chromed plastic was
much brighter underneath. Upon looking further, I found that I could peel
the same coating off even the instrument lenses, etc. There was actually a
measurable coating applied by the Armor All. I peeled it off and put on a
fresh coat ;-)

Finally, I just LOVE driving away from or even past some of the car washes
around here. The detailers use so much Armor All or whatever that the
street is permanently slimy in front of their exits. Wonder how many
accidents they cause ???

Karl
