I paid extra to get the 'cold start' fixtures in my garage/shop. Might be over kill here in NC but the standard 4 foot units I had in my garage in MA would often not start at temps in the 20's(F) I doubt you'd have any problems using the less expensive standard units with temps of ~50F.
