Actually, he sent HTML (or some MIME-encoded stuff) to the list,
which appears to now be filtering through demime.
Demime gets rid of MIME-encoded stuff in mail.
Mail to lists should be in ASCII, and running the list through
demime ensures that. Any MIME-encoded stuff gets thrown out.
In this case, resulting in an empty message.
To post in plain ASCII text:
In MSIE/Outlook, select Tools->Options. Click Send. Select "Plain Text"
for "Mail sending format".
While you're there, set the comment character for '>' so your
mail that includes text from mail you're replying to gets denoted
in the internet standard way, like in this mail.
