Evacuating AC

Is there any way a "do-it-yourselfer" can evacuate Freon R12?

I find I must remove my radiator,trans cooler, AC condenser.  Everything is 
hanging there right now with the AC lines connected.

Suggestions?

The car is not driveable.   : - (
