Hi folks,
I would like to install a video surveillance system around the perimeter of my
shop. The shop is located right next to our house. Both the shop and house
have non monitored alarm systems - sensors on windows, doors, motion detectors
etc. There are motion detector flood lights above the roll up doors and the
two man doors.
I would like a system that can monitor the short driveway in front of the roll
ups and the pathway to each man door, one on the side and one in the back of
the building. I would like the capability of identifying the make, model and
license number of any car that pulls into the shop driveway. In addition, I
need recording and playback capability. Finally, the ability to monitor the
situation from the house would be beneficial.
I have searched the web and am overwhelmed with the different options
available. Wired vs. wireless, computer monitored vs. video tape, black and
white vs. color etc. I am hoping some of you folks can provide some input on
this and get me started in the right direction.
Would like to stay under $1500.00 if possible but will spend what is needed to
get a quality system. Also would prefer to get a complete kit and not have to
piece a bunch of components together. Would like to have the installation done
and be fully operational in one, maybe two weekends at the most.
Thanks in advance for any insights you can provide on this subject.
