No need to convince her, why do you think all those
mini-warehouse/self-storage places exist? Do you think people actually
store old lamps in them? Nah, they are full of things that some spouse
wants to hide from another spouse. Go ahead and buy the damned thing,
store it, then tell her about it the next time she wants to have or do
something you don't want to do. Or alternatively, use Ray's "well if I
can't skydive, then I ought to be able to get the car I want" argument.
Deceit and manipulation are not the foundation of a marriage, but are an
unavoidable ingredient.
