the 4.3 is a SBC with 2 cyl chopped off.
late 80s to real recent.
good motor BUT.... dont get one before 2000 since they used to have a PITA FI
system that... long story short-POC...
you can swap on a carb manifold and edelbrock 600cfm carb...
but agreed-why not go to a 6 cyl? a 235 is okay, a 1963-198x chevy 250 is a
GREAT inline 6 and bolts to all the modern automatics.
you can get retro and spend lots of money-ive got a few 270 GMC inliners for
sale. or theres always the holy grail wayne jimmy 302.. =)
as for biodiesel-all the newer type 6.2/6.5 and even the 5.9 cummins need a
true biofuel.
my 3.9 4BTA only needs filtered fry oil. i dont need to refine it and
chemically change it.
also-tehres a Cummins white paper that my motor retains full warranty with up
to 10% used motor oil as a fuel. =)
