In the 60's and 70's we flushed radiators and blocks
every year and added rust inhibitor each time. With
the introduction of Prestone II, that became
unnecessary. I would recommend that if you have not
changed it for four years, that you drain and out and
put in a 50/50 mix of Prestone II and clean water,
rust inhibitor is not needed as the Prestone has it in
it already.
There is a drain on the bottom of the radiator and 1
or 2 1/4" NPT plugs on the block to allow you to drain
it. (they may be quite stubborn)
I don't remember the name of the new stuff GM is
using, but stay away from it, It jells when it sets
and ages.
