Newer ones are 15 amp for a straight heater and 25 amp for air conditioning
(clutch etc extra). The old ones in our trucks are options and some
of our trucks didn't even have fuse panels.
The heater motors have always been about the same. I would start
with a 15 amp and if that blows out after a while, replace it with
a 20 amp. If it blows right away, you have some other problem.
