I owned an '84 with a 6.2 litre diesel... what a
pooch. Poor longevity. Little get-up-and-go.

I have to wonder how well the old chassis -- mostly
frames -- would weather this upgrade. Light truck
frames are constructed quite a bit differently these
days. I doubt that one would have any torque problems
with a diesel in the trucks with the much taller
frames such as the 1.5 tons and up.
Just a thought.
