[oletrucks] tranny rear housing

can i take the rear torque tube housing off a tranny and replace it with a
reg carrier that holds a new-style yoke that will accept a modern
driveshaft? i want to do this so when i change the rear axle to a higher
ratio, i dont have to change the tranny too.
