In an effort to get the truck running for Easter (we give the Easter Bunny
a ride for the kids), I've been poking at it; it hasn't run since LAST
Easter :P
Prepped it before starting (it did get spun over every so often), added
fresh gas, etc. Ran a lot of smoke out at first, but settled down.
Tried to take it around the block a few times, but it would abruptly die...
OFF. Sometimes fluttering the gas would bring it back if we were going fast
enough, sometimes it wouldn't.
Almost seems like the bowl would run dry in the carb, get refilled, run dry
again. I;m gonna tear down this rotten Rochester AGAIN and see if there is
something amiss.
Also has backfires, misses. Need to check timing and look for manifold
intake leaks.
There is an exhaust leak around the manifold flapper - does this afect
anything? Kinda ironic, as I had finally freed the flapper from its
'closed' position yesterday!
Brakes are kinda grabby, making stopping interesting; discovered my rear
seals were leaking and getting goo on the drums.
Don't know if the Bunny is gonna travel 100 miles in this truck this year,
but it was nice to hear it go again.
