I have seen the tool that you are describing at Harbor Freight Tool. I don't
think costs more that $6.00.

 I put my windshield in by myself using a tool that my friendly local glass
shop loaned to me.  It looked like an ice pick that was bent 90 degrees and
had a curly cue on the end.  It made the job very easy.  You just hook the
end in the rubber and start moving around the  window.  The molding peels
right in.
