Jack,

The truck is in extreme northern Arkansas and I am in extreme southern
Louisiana so I cannot recheck the AGCA/AJCA potential, but I will ask my
dad to recheck and to look for a number along the pan rail. My guess was
that it is a 216, but wanted to know for sure. We are expecially
interested in if it is babbit or insert equipped as I assume that will
affect the difficulty (expense) of a rebuild. Thanks for the reply.

I cannot find the AGCA prefix, could it possibly be AJCA? If so it is a
1951
216 engine. A better ID is by the block casting number, the '51 216 should
be 3835497. Look near the pan rail for numbers cast into the block.
