Hi Mark,
Two possibilities immediately come to mind. Early (42-->48) Fords used a
rubber biscuit about 3" in dia and slightly tapered with a 1/2" hole thru
it. I used these to mount the early Olds motors and now the 350 Chevy in
one of our Model A's. Early V8 (265) 55 - 56 Chevy cars used a 3 point
mount, the front being two approx 3" rubber biscuits under the crank via a
bracket to the front crossmember.

Is this the truck you're putting the late (73) saddle under the front? I
thought the original mount pedestals from the donor truck could be used. I
was planning to use them later this winter when I re-do our 49. The current
283 bolted to the granny 4-speed is supported by one of those store bought
steel tube saddle type mounts. I'm planning on using a TH350 and 54-56
Olds rear (3:23) and 78 1/2 ton front saddle. I'm trying to get everything
set up re-built etc prior to taking the truck down, since it's a daily driver.
