  Paul, Dustin.....

EDM ..... Electrical Discharge Machining, Wire - uses a thin wire on a
spool done inside a machine under a flood of ionized water. Also requires a
through hole for the process. Sinker - with a graphite or copper electrode
done on a machine, in a tank (part submerged in EDM fluid (dielectric oil))
Can be a through hole or blind hole, electrodes can be made to any shape.
This process is often used in the plastics injection mold manufacturing
process. Both processes are a fairly slow process. I have burned out taps,
and drills for local companies, typical charge is $30.00 to $60.00. My
tank size on my sinker EDM is 18"x24"x12" deep.
Can this be done in the bed of a pick-up... no. Can this be done on an
assembled engine...no. (unless you find someone with a large EDM, and you
don't mind little beebees (burned out tap/drill/easyout) running around in
your engine :(

Dustin commented concerning my broken Easy Out:

"The best thing to do would be to EDM it out"

I have heard this is the "A" solution from guys that work with high
dollar classic cars and bikes. What is the EDM process, and who does it?
Can
they work on a completely assembled motor in the bed of a pickup? What can
we
expect to pay for this service?
