I got a rebuildable '56 engine and was looking at the inliners engine
casting numbers and notice that for the specific engine that I got, the
casting number says the following:
3837004 Chevrolet 55-57 235-261
I noticed that all other casting numbers refer to only either 235 or 261
but this casting number refers to both.
My question is: What differences the 235 from the 261? Did GM used the
same block for the the two sizes?
Thanks,
Antonio,
