Hey Jim, sounds like my project, except I'm doing it to a 53 3100. I
did not cut the front frame, but added a Mustang II type IFS kit with
power R&P steering, disk brakes. Now working on the rear which will be
new leaf spring set-up and a 10-bolt GM posi that I just rebuilt. Are
you removing the entire cab to blast and paint the frame? All I can
offer at the present time is that you will uncover stuff you weren't
expecting as you dismantle the truck! But that's part of the fun I
guess. Sounds like a good project and congrats on taking it on and
sticking with it. Only difference between us is I'm a 51 year old
geezer with 17 and 22 year old boys, and I'm trying to get THEM
interested!!

Good luck with your oletruck.
