[oletrucks] 3spd tranny problem

I have a 50 chevy 1/2 ton with a 3spd manual. my problem is that it won't 
stay in 3rd gear. if you manage to get in 3rd it stays for a short time(few 
hundred feet). i am wondering if anyone knows or might know what is wrong 
with it. also if you know where i can find the parts for it would be helpfull
