Also, as an alternative, the cam journals could be turned down to match the
block journal sizes, although I realize this would reduce the bearing
surface/load capacity (& I assume that would be why GM increased the size in
later years, anyway) & it would require rehardening the cam shaft journal
surfaces (something that could warp all other cam tolerances out of wack).
