This brings up a point which I should have addressed already. As all of you
should know by now, the chevytrucks.org website is now on a new server.
Unfortunately, this move has wreaked havoc on the chevytrucks.org e-mail
system. I will explain, but I don't think I can break the explanation down
into everyday conversational English. However, I will try.
InterNIC, the organisation through which all domain names must be
registered, has yet to officially switch the chevytrucks.org domain to the
new server. In the meantime, the owners of the old server have graciously
installed a "pointer" to the new server so that anyone typing
"www.chevytrucks.org" into their browser will be taken to the proper
chevytrucks.org site anyway.
However, someone at the old server screwed up e-mail forwarding. Therefore,
all e-mail addressed to anyone at the chevytrucks.org domain will bounce
back. I've tried to get them to change it, they had it right for a few hours
then screwed it up again. I fear we shall have to wait until InterNIC gets
the chevytrucks.org domain permanently switched to the new server to solve
the e-mail problem.
I said all that to say this. Some of you may also subscribe to one of the
chevytrucks.org mailing lists (sixtiestrucks, bigtrucks and/or newtrucks).
No doubt you've noticed those lists have disappeared. The reason they have
is because of the e-mail screwup. Once the e-mail problem is solved, those
lists will be back.
I apologise for the long dissertation.
