A few weeks ago I sent a message to the 3 Spridget email lists that I
know of
asking for details about current Car Clubs that cater specifically for
Sprites and
Midgets to find out how many are out there and see who the oldest one
was.

I was a little dissapointed with the few responses I received, I thought
there
would be a few more clubs out there, perhaps there aren't? It appears
many clubs
that started as Sprite/Midget clubs were at some stage absorbed, or
became general
Austin Healey Clubs.

Heres the list of current clubs. I don't have dates for when some of
these clubs began so I've taken a guess at listing them in order of age:

The Sprite Car Club of Australia - began June 1960 - Australia (NSW)
The Austin Healey Sprite Drivers Club Inc. - began ?? - Australia (Vic.)
Sprite Club of South Australia - began ?? - Australia (SA)
SMOG (Sprite Midget Owners Group) - began ?? - USA (unclear as to
whether still
running)
Midget & Sprite Club - began 1983 - UK

Let me know if I've got it wrong or if there are any other clubs
secretly lurking
out there somewhere.

Cheers,
Eriks Skinkis
