Arlin,

I fitted a Crane system to my 4/4 a few years back. It made a huge
difference at high revs. But while your at it you should check the
distributor for wear. A loose shaft can play havoc with dwell angle and
timing. While your at it check the fuel pump. Mine hit neutral pressure at
5,000 rpm (ie it was not pumping at all to speak of). How high do you rev
the plus 4 by the way?

Owners of Kent engined 4/4s should think seriously about replacing their
old distributors especially if they are autolite brand. The specs on these
new were worse than most very worn distributors. Late model Escorts have a
nice Bosch distributor or you can have an Hitachi off a Datsun (Nissan)
120Y modified to fit.
