Saddam Hussein claims today that he has uncovered a "fiendish plot
by the incarnate devils of the Anglo-American allies to undermine the
sovereign Iraqi nation" He has revealed that there have been placed, on
Iraqi soil, reproductions of Morgan automobiles. He explained that, while
diplomatic negotiations about other issues were proceeding, that his
extensive crew of LBC experts had analyzed two examples found in the southern
suburbs of Baghdad. He further claimed that the blame for this transgression
was clearly in the camp of the "American Devil", because the cars in question
seem to have chassis built by Don Simpkins of Georgia. Since torching a
collection of over $16 million of antique cars, it seems that Saddam has
become more aware of the various marques. It remains to be seen what he may
do with these recently captured vehicles.
