Hi

Do You have a friend with a lathe?. It would be no problem to chuck it back
in a lathe or use a jam chuck. Then drill that out and add a new piece of
wood that could be later drilled to the right size to thread on....

Almost any one could do it for you. Where do you live? Look for a wood  
working
club near you. Take them an old shifter stalk if you want it to be  
exact....
