[Mgs] Removing Piston Carbon Buildup

What is the easiest/best way to remove the carbon buildup on the top of 
the pistons on my 1963 MGB engine after I take the head off?  I don't 
want to remove the pistons either.  Any tried and true techniques and 
products that can be used?  Thank you.
