Well, that description would have almost perfectly fit my 66 B at the time I
bought it in 1988. Almost 20 years later, what has become clear is that the
entire rear body aft of the cockpit is almost entirely covered with filler;
that the "minor paint cracks" are actually cracks through the filler
allowing water to penetrate to the metal, causing the filler to flake off;
that the front wings are equally compromised; and that it would require all
new wings, a new rear valance, and the piece below the trunk opening in
order to achieve a proper repair. Not to mention the usual sill and dogleg
rot.
I'm not complaining -- some problems were apparent at the time under the
new, glossy "buy me" red paint -- and I only paid $600 for the beast. But
I'd be a LOT fussier about a $6000 purchase. Caveat emptor.
