All I know is that my 72B's crankshaft, formerly from my 71BGT, has used
the smaller ones for the past twenty years. I always thought it was a bit
odd that the bushing was flush with the outer end of the crank and inside,
there was quite a gap to the end. But its firmly in there and should
provide adequate support for the shaft. I would think the 1.5" could be
tougher to shove in, since its a tight fit to begin with.
