Steve:

I can't remember exactly about the hole through the firewall, but I'm pretty
sure there is a blanked hole there for the european models with choke.

The kit Moss sells now contains two mounting plates, one for the choke cable
and another to mount an indicator light. These plates are for generic
installation and are not designed specifically for the B. Personally I
would deep six the indicator light, as it just adds complications. If you
don't know the choke is on, you shouldn't be driving an MG. The mounting
plates are suitable for mounting under the dash, or on the side of the radio
console, but a bit of extra work will make the installation much nicer.

On the 77-80 MGB dash the blanking plate in the switch position makes a good
location for the choke pull. It duplicates the location of the earlier
68-74 B and keeps the knob easily visible. An easy way to do this is cut
two steel plates, one to fit the switch recess on the face of the dash. The
other quite a bit larger than the switch hole. Drill and file a hole for
the cable through both plates (it does need to have a locating flat).
Mount the cable pull so the two plates are sandwiched on either side of the
dash sheetmetal.

have fun

Kelvin.
