when i installed H4 non-sealed beam head lights in my '73
roadster i eventually wired the switch up to a relay in
place of the original head light circuit and pulled power to
the head lights from the "brown" circuit. I believe that
this greatly increased the longivity of my headlight switch
'cause the h4 bulbs pulled so much current it nearly melted
the original AND the first replacement switch.
