It leaks and makes noise.  See if you can pinpoint the sound.  (Try a
broom handle against the block and put the other end against your ear
for the poor mans engine stethoscope.)
The bearings don't make noise as far as I know, but your engine
can/will loose oil pressure quickly, and it will rattle really bad.
