Shocks and lowering a rubber-bumpered B

Hi all,

I've considered installing a lowering kit on my 79 B sometime in the future.  
Would this preclude me from installing tube shocks at the rear before then?  Or 
do shocks having nothing to do with lowering a rubber-bumpered MGB?
