Indeed, I've been running the lighter hollow tappet set up on my '65 for
quite awhile. Just don't put new lifters on a well used cam, they can
chew it up in short order. These components need to "wear in" together
for maximum life, so pop in a new/reground cam too, it's worth the cost
and trouble.
