I have found two additional references which list SK part number 40142 as
being 1.88 inches in diameter. Have the specs changed? The Craftsman 1 5/16
socket has gotten thicker recently, making it useless; the Snap-on which was
reportedly useful for this nut is in fact too big. It wouldn't surprise me
much if the SK had grown as well.
And Larry: if you don't tell your car, I promise I won't. Just don't let her
