Insurance company investigates a claim for a car that ran away down a
sloping field at a farm and was destroyed when it hit a tree. Investigator
finds the handbrake button and asociated components in the ashtray where
they had obviously been for some time, and on looking in the engine
compartment found no starter motor. This on a car in use every day. It
transpired that the farmer put a brick in front of the wheel when he left
the car each night. Next morning he would kick the brick away, jump in and
bump-start it. Problem was, farmer was getting on a bit, and this
particular morning he failed to make it to the driving seat. He lost his
claim.
